Feast of Saint Martin de Porres at Pasaje Galvan Street.

Every November 03, The Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Martin de Porres, O.P., a Lay Dominican Brother who served the Lord in a simple manner in Lima , Peru. Frequently called as the Saint of the Broom. A Negro Saint since his mother was an African slave and his father was a Spanish noble man. At the age of 15, he entered the Dominican Order where He served the Lord entirely until His death.  He was canonized by Saint John XXIII at 1962 because of his profound humility and miracles which draws many Catholic to recourse to him.

Here in Malate, Manila, A Chapel was Built into his Honor within the Vicinity of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Singalong, Manila in 1966.

Many come to this Simple Chapel to recourse to the Negro Saint every Thursdays, the day of the Devotion to San Martin de Porres, Miracles are allegedly reported by some devotees while coming to this Simple Chapel even though the Chapel was privately Administered by the Foundation of San Martin de Porres. A simple group which dedicated themselves to San Martin de Porres.

 Martin had a great desire to go off to some foreign mission and thus earn the palm of martyrdom. However, since this was not possible, he made a martyr out of his body, devoting himself to ceaseless and severe penances. In turn, God endowed him with many graces and wondrous gifts, such as aerial flight and bilocation.

St. Martin’s love was all-embracing, shown equally to humans and to animals, including vermin, and he maintained a cat and dog hospital at his sister’s house. He also possessed spiritual wisdom, demonstrated in his solving his sister’s marriage problems, raising a dowry for his niece inside of three day’s time, and resolving theological problems for the learned of his Order and for bishops. A close friend of St. Rose of Lima, this saintly man died on November 3, 1639 and was canonized on May 6, 1962. His feast day is November 3.

The Chapel is frequently visited by the Devotees especially for this Woman named ""Maria Dulce Juco", I think that she is the responsible for building this Chapel in San Martin de Porres, When I was so clse to her, she always tell those devotees to focus on God because God love us so much, God will answer our Prayers through the help of the Prayers of San Martin de Porres.

Mrs. Maria Dulce Juco, with some devotees of San Martin. Some says that she is a "Healer". After the Mass people will fall in line just to be touched by her and to ask her to pray for them.

The Chapel is located at this Address, just at the back of the Apostolic Nunciature.

 Different people from walks of life come here, I was surprised because same devotees came here from Sampaloc, Manila, Cubao, Valenzuela, Quezon City even some came from provinces like Bulacan and from abroad. 

This Chapel some call it also as a "Shrine of Healing and Miracles" draws many people to come here to be close to God, to be more close to the Lord Jesus through the Help of Saint Martin de Porres, O.P.

Pour out upon our families the precious gifts of your solicitous and generous intercession; show to the people of every race and every color the paths of unity and of justice; implore from our Father in heaven the coming of his kingdom, so that through mu tual benevolence in God men may increase the fruits of grace and merit the rewards of eternal life.
